What awaits you
- Two days riding across jailoo and Kara-Keche pass
- A night in a yurt right by the water at 3,016 m
- Beshbarmak and kumis with a herding family
- A starry sky with zero light pollution
Song-Kul sits at 3,016 m — every summer herders from across Naryn bring their flocks up here. We follow their trail: two days in the saddle over Kara-Keche pass and the jailoo where horse herds graze.
The horses are calm and no riding experience is needed — an instructor gives a short lesson before we set off. We sleep in Asanbek’s family yurts, with dinner cooked over a dung fire as it was a century ago.
